The RCDC’s Vision Statement

In the heart of Montana, Ravalli County Detention Center is operating with a clear and steadfast mission: the safe, secure, and humane management of people who end up in their custody. With an unwavering commitment to the people of Ravalli County, they’re tapping into every resource to provide top-notch service.

They’re not doing this alone. In a coordinated effort with local law enforcement, the courts, and the broader criminal justice system, the detention center ensures individuals are at hand for court appearances and fulfill their judicial sentences.

The folks at Ravalli County Detention Center are all about respectful confinement. They’re striving to ensure that people leave the facility just as they came – if not better – in terms of physical and mental health.

They’ve embraced the principle that there’s always room for change. To that end, they’re giving inmates opportunities to participate in community-based programs to spark positive change, boost self-esteem, and encourage a healthy respect for the law.

The dedicated team at the detention center places high importance on fulfilling their responsibilities and respecting the legal framework underpinning their work. They’re committed to acting in strict compliance with Montana state law and the United States Constitution at all times. The center’s leadership recognizes the importance of ensuring the health and safety of its staff members. They go to great lengths to maintain a working environment that is secure, supportive, and conducive to the well-being of every employee, which they believe is integral to carrying out their mission effectively.

They have a Policy and Procedure manual on hand to keep operations running smoothly and within legal bounds. This guide establishes safety guidelines for both staff and inmates and ensures the detention center’s operations respect individuals’ Constitutional Rights and remain current with State Statutes and Regulations. In essence, it’s their playbook for fair play and safe practices.
